The Forth Fable (2015 - 2016)

Two sketch-a-day pages I made in January 2015 while reading Kit White's 101 Things You Learn in Art School. These are quotes from the book.
The Forth Fable is, essentially, what my 21 year-old self thought Horn of Heaven was going to be. The guiding question in this story is, "What if, in a hierarchy of deities, the supreme god had finite power?" How does this affect the dynamic between a god and Their creations? Between a god and humanity?

I wrote the first draft of the story in October 2015, and steadily converted the prose into comic form through relentless sketching, thumbnailing, pencilling, and inking, for a total of 81 pages. The project was completed in late June 2016.

Horn of Heaven (2013 - 2014)

Horn of Heaven is about how the tiers of divinity in my story universe were created.

With Antoinette LaFarge as my mentor, I completed an honors thesis regarding the graphic novel medium while concurrently writing, planning, and illustrating this one-shot comic.

Ere Mail (2014)

The prompt for our 20-page graphic novels was to choose a myth and update it to take place in contemporary time. Ere Mail is based on the Russian myth "The Silver Plate and Transparent Apple," and is an investigation of language and communication. Drawn in Photoshop, text added in InDesign, and printed using Blurb.com.
